Earthworks for large rural water tanks

We prepared this pad for three 30,000-litre water tanks on a Canterbury property. At full capacity the tanks hold around 90 tonnes of water, so a flat, stable and well-drained foundation is essential.

Accurate preparation and compaction

We formed the platform to the required size and level, placed suitable aggregate and compacted it to create a consistent base beneath the tanks. The surrounding area was shaped so surface water could move away rather than pond around the installation.
